From October 21, 2026, all dates and times in Tapfiliate are in UTC, so you, your team, and your affiliates see the same numbers for any period. This article explains how to check your current time zone and what you'll see after the switch.

In this article:

Why One Time Zone

Until now, Tapfiliate stored a time zone for each user. An account owner, a team member, and an affiliate could each see a day that started at a different hour. That's how the same period could show different totals to you and to your affiliate.

From October 21, every day in Tapfiliate starts at 00:00 UTC for everyone. One period, one total.

Check Your Time Zone

  1. Click your initials in the bottom-left corner of your dashboard.

  2. Open Profile settings.

  3. Look at the Time zone field.

If it shows UTC, nothing changes for you. If it shows another time zone, read the next section.

What You'll See From October 21

In your dashboard

  • Reports, filters, and exports count days and months in UTC. A day starts at 00:00 UTC, for example 8 pm the day before in New York or 9 am in Tokyo.

  • Past periods are counted in UTC too, because Tapfiliate calculates reports on the fly. A few conversions made near midnight may now show on the day before or after, so totals for a past month can differ slightly from an export you made earlier.

  • Bonus periods close in UTC. Around the start of the bonus period that is open on October 21, a few hours may count toward both the previous and the current period, or toward neither. New to bonuses? Read how they work in Bonuses.

  • The Time zone field in Profile settings shows UTC and can't be changed.

In the REST API and postbacks

  • The Up to filter in Payouts > Balances and the up_to API parameter include commissions up to 23:59 UTC of the selected day.

  • date_from and date_to in the REST API are days in UTC. The use_profile_timezone parameter no longer has any effect.

  • Postbacks that pass conversion_created_at, customer_created_at, or click_time send them in UTC (+00:00). The moment is the same, only the notation changes. If your affiliates read only the date from these values, you may want to let them know.

What Stays the Same

Commissions you've already earned, approved, or paid stay exactly as they are. So do your invoices and payouts. Tapfiliate doesn't add, remove, or count any commission twice. Only the hours around midnight move to a different day.

Before October 21: Export What You Need

If you need reports for past months in your current time zone, for example for accounting, export them before October 21. After the switch, every report runs in UTC.

FAQ

❓ Why do my totals for last month differ from my old export?

Tapfiliate now counts that month in UTC, so conversions made near midnight may fall on the day before or after. To compare figures, export the old period again so both are counted in UTC.

❓ Can I switch back to my own time zone?

Not at the moment. One time zone keeps your numbers identical to your team's and your affiliates'. If your workflow needs a different time zone, tell us about your case at support@tapfiliate.com. We'd like to hear how you use it.

❓ Do my affiliates see the change?

Yes. Your affiliates see all dates in UTC too, and Tapfiliate no longer asks them for a time zone at sign-up.

❓ Does this change my billing?

No. Your Tapfiliate subscription was already billed in UTC.
