Overview of How Affiliate Payment Information Collection Works
The main idea is that you can choose which payment methods to offer your affiliates. You can select just one or multiple options. Affiliates will then be able to choose from the methods you’ve made available.
Below is the list of default payment methods. When you select a particular method, affiliates will be required to provide the corresponding information. For example: PayPal – affiliates must provide their PayPal email or Bank (International) – affiliates must provide their bank account number and BIC.
If you create a custom payment method, you define what information affiliates need to provide.
Below, we’ll explain both options in detail.
Default payout methods available in Tapfiliate
Here are the payout methods currently supported by Tapfiliate:
ACH
Bank (Australia)
Bank (IBAN)
Bank (India)
Bank (International)
Bank (UK)
Bitcoin
Check
Ether
Litecoin
MercadoPago
Neteller
Payoneer
PayPal
PayQuicker
Skrill
Stellar (XLM)
Venmo
Webmoney
Here’s how you can choose the payment method in your account: Go to your Settings tab → Payments → From the dropdown menu, select a payment method from the list.
For Venmo: Make sure affiliates provide both their username and phone number in their payment settings. If a phone number is missing, advise them to delete Venmo as a payment method and then re-add it with both fields completed.
Changes can be made in the affiliate portal by clicking on the bubble with their initials → Payout Methods.
How to create a custom payment method
If you want to pay affiliates using a method not listed here, you can create your own payout method.
In addition to the wide variety of payout methods already offered by Tapfiliate, you can also add custom payout methods to pay your affiliates.
To set up a new payout method:
Go to your Settings tab → Payments
Scroll down to the Create New Payout Method button and click on it
Next, give your new method a title and create the fields. These fields will appear as questions that affiliates need to fill out.
What information should you ask for?
When deciding what fields to include, ask yourself: “What information do I need from my affiliates to pay them?”
For example: If you want to pay an affiliate via PayPal, you only need their PayPal email. In this case, you would add PayPal email as the only field for the payout method.
Important notes:
PayPal is already offered as a standard payout method, so there’s no need to create it as a custom method.
Tapfiliate already collects First Name, Last Name, and Email Address by default. You don’t need to ask for this information again when creating a custom payout method.
FAQs
❓Are affiliate payouts via Stripe supported? I see Stripe listed in the integration guides.
Stripe isn’t currently available as a payout option for affiliate commissions. However, it is on our roadmap, and we plan to add Stripe as a payout method in the future.
For now, you can integrate Tapfiliate with Stripe to track payments as conversions — this is separate from affiliate payouts.
❓How can I check if an affiliate has added their payout details?
Go to the Affiliates tab in your account.
Click on the affiliate in question.
Click the Go to Full Profile button.
If the affiliate has added payout details, they will appear in the Payout Methods section.
❓How can I collect or export affiliates’ payout details?
The primary way to retrieve an affiliate’s payout details is through the REST API. You can use the Get Payout Method endpoint to do this.
