How to Customize Your Affiliate Sign-Up?

This guide walks you through customizing your program's affiliate sign-up page, ensuring a seamless and branded experience for new partners.

The Affiliate Sign-Up Page Overview

The Sign-Up page is your program's primary point of contact and first impression. It has two essential roles:

  1. Brand Consistency

Fully customize the page with your logo, colors, and styling to ensure a professional, seamless experience that matches your company's brand.

2. Affiliate Conversion

Use the welcome message to clearly communicate the program's value, rules, and commission structure. A clear, well-branded page is crucial for building trust and maximizing applications from high-quality partners.

Customization is key to turning visitors into active, engaged affiliates. By customizing your design and user experience, you can boost conversion rates by up to 400%, while branded sign-up pages alone increase new affiliate applications by 42%. Ensuring your page reflects your brand's unique colors and messaging builds immediate trust and dramatically increases the likelihood of a successful sign-up.

To access your settings at any time:

Go to ProgramsSignup page.

How to Access the Sign-up Page Settings for a Specific Program

Depending on your pricing plan, you have the flexibility to manage multiple distinct partner programs within a single account. Each program can be fully and independently customized.

To access your sign-up page settings at any time:

  1. Go to Programs → Signup page (found under the 'General Settings' sidebar).

  2. Crucial Note (Multiple Programs): If you have multiple programs (e.g., 'Your Online Shop,' 'Your SaaS Program'), locate the program name dropdown menu in the top right corner of the page and click on the program you wish to customize.

  3. You can now customize the selected program's sign-up page.

Step-by-Step Customization

You can modify your sign-up page using the following options:

1. Registration Status ✨ New

We recently launched Registration Status, giving you direct control over whether your affiliate program is open to new sign-ups or temporarily closed. There are two options:

Public (Default) The sign-up page is open and accessible. Any affiliate can find your program and apply to join, subject to your approval settings.

Disabled New registrations are fully closed. Existing affiliates are not affected in any way: their dashboard access, tracking links, commissions, and payouts all continue as normal. Anyone who visits the sign-up URL while registration is disabled will see a message page letting them know that registration is currently unavailable.

When you set your status to Disabled, you can also customize the message that prospective affiliates will see. The default message reads:

"We're sorry, but registration for our affiliate program is currently not available. We appreciate your interest and thank you for your understanding."

You can edit this text to better fit your tone or provide more context.

2. Blocked Countries

Blocked Countries is a brand new feature that lets you decide which countries are allowed to register for your affiliate program. By default, this setting is empty, meaning affiliates from all countries can sign up. Once you add countries to the blocked list, affiliates attempting to register from those regions will not be able to complete the sign-up process.

To set it up, simply click on the Blocked Countries setting and select the countries you want to restrict. You can block as many countries as needed, and changes take effect immediately after saving.

A few things worth keeping in mind:

  • Country detection is based on the affiliate's IP address at the time of registration. This works well in the vast majority of cases.

  • The restriction page shown to blocked affiliates does not mention that their country is specifically blocked: it simply indicates that registration is not available.

  • Adding a country to the blocked list does not affect affiliates who are already registered. It only applies to new sign-up attempts going forward.

Availability: Blocked Countries is included as standard on the Enterprise plan and is available as an add-on for other plans.

3. Select Your Template

Choose the visual layout for your page (e.g., Wavy, Block, or Classic).

4. Add Your Logo

Upload your company logo. A logo in landscape orientation is preferred. You can also attach a hyperlink to your logo that redirects to your main website.

Note on Requirements: Please ensure your logo adheres to our technical restrictions (max file size, preferred dimensions, and resolution). You can view the full requirements and troubleshooting guide here: How to Successfully Upload Your Program Logo

5. Edit Page Text

The Title and Welcome Message field is your program's main descriptive content; it must grab the visitor's attention and explain the "why" behind your program.

Welcome Message Strategy: What to Include

To make your message compelling and professional, ensure you cover these essential points:

Element

Purpose

Why It's Crucial

How to Get Started

To show how simple the enrollment process is.

Reduces friction; visitors are more likely to apply if the steps are clear (e.g., using a numbered list).

Commission (Reward)

To be upfront and clear about the primary benefit.

This is often the most important factor for an affiliate. Be transparent about rates and cookie duration.

Contact Email

To show that there's a real person behind the program and to provide a support channel.

Builds trust and gives the partner a direct support route.

Inspirational Words

A final, encouraging message to prompt action.

Converts intent into action.

Technical Options (Rich Media)

Beyond simple text, you can embed rich media to enhance your message:

  • Add Media: Use the + icon to insert buttons, images (without size constraints, unlike the logo), or embed videos (YouTube or Vimeo) directly into your message.

Template Example: The Fun & Friendly Brand

Here is a template you can adapt for a vibrant, direct-to-consumer brand personality:

(A final, encouraging message to prompt action)

  • Form Header (Optional): This title appears directly above the sign-up fields (e.g., "Become our affiliate. Sign up here!").

  • Terms of Service: Add the required legal text to your sign-up page.

Tip: A visually engaging Welcome Message with a video or branded image significantly improves affiliate trust and sign-up conversion.

6. Change Colors (Color Scheme)

Choose the main and accent colors to align with your brand's color scheme.

Tip: Select colors that provide high contrast (like the main background/footer color and the button color) to ensure your page is accessible and professional.

7. Select Language

Choose the default language for the sign-up form and the affiliate dashboard.

  • All form fields and button texts on your sign-up page will appear in this language.

  • The affiliate's account will also be initially set to this language.

Important Note on Changes: While this sets the starting language:

  • While Affiliates cannot change the language on the sign-up, they can later change it in the Profile settings in their accounts.

  • Advertisers (you) can change the language for your program at any time in the settings.

8. Disclose Commission Structure (Optional)

Choose whether to publicly display your default commission structure on the sign-up page. The Commission Structure defines how your partners (affiliates) will be rewarded for driving results for your business.

Why this matters: Showing the structure transparently can boost trust and encourage sign-ups. If your structure is complex or customized per group, you may choose to hide it here.

9. Add Terms of Service

This step is essential for compliance and protection. Add the required legal text to your sign-up page.

  • Important: These must be your company's terms and conditions for partners, not Tapfiliate's terms.

Read our guide: For help creating compliant and clear rules, see How to Create Terms of Service for Your Affiliate Program (with a Ready-to-use Template).

Note on Branding: If you want your program's URL to be completely custom, without the yourcompany.tapfiliate.com subdomain, you can use our White Label feature. This creates a fully branded experience for your affiliates. Read the article on White Labeling for more information.
