All commissions, conversions, and reports within the program will be displayed in the selected currency. To select the currency:

Go to Programs > General Settings - hit the Save button after choosing the currency:

Even though your program has a default currency, you can choose a different currency for tracking individual conversions.

This is possible when integrating with Tapfiliate via the JavaScript integration or the REST API. Please note that you’ll need a developer’s help, as the currency value must be included in the conversion creation code.

In this case, the conversion will use the currency sent through the integration code instead of the program’s default currency. This is especially useful if your store charges customers in multiple currencies.

Additionally, in the Reporting section, you’ll be able to filter and view your results by currency.

Please note that when switching between currencies in the reports, the number of clicks and conversions remains the same, while the revenue amount changes based on the selected currency. This is because clicks and conversions are tracked independently of currency, whereas monetary values depend on it.

Configuring Cookie Time in Days

In affiliate marketing, ‘cookie time’ refers to the period (measured in days) between a user’s last click on an affiliate link and a conversion (such as a purchase). During this time, the affiliate who referred the user will still receive credit for the conversion.

By default, Tapfiliate sets cookie time to 45 days, though industry standards can vary from 30 to 90 days. The maximum cookie time you can configure is 365 days.

Advertisers choose cookie durations based on purchase behavior and campaign goals:

  • Short cookies (7–30 days) work well for flash sales or products bought quickly, ensuring affiliates are credited only for recent referrals.

  • Medium cookies (30–90 days) suit products with longer decision cycles, like electronics or subscription boxes, allowing affiliates to nurture leads.

  • Long cookies (180–365 days) are ideal for high-value or infrequent purchases, as well as loyalty programs, giving affiliates credit for conversions that happen months later.

Cookies are used by websites and tracking software to monitor user behavior. Tapfiliate follows the Last Cookie Counts rule.

If a user clicks multiple affiliate links before converting, the last affiliate link clicked will be credited for the conversion.

Example:

Tom discovers an online shop through an affiliate link on Veronica’s blog. He browses the shop but leaves without making a purchase. A few days later, Tom clicks a link shared by Sandra on Facebook, visits the shop again, and completes a purchase.

Even though Tom initially found the shop through Veronica, the commission goes to Sandra, as she was the last affiliate to direct him to the shop.

To configure your program’s cookie time:

  1. Go to Settings > Program > General.

  2. Locate the ‘Cookie time in days’ field.

  3. Enter your preferred number of days.

  4. Hit button Save.

Any changes you make to your program’s cookie time take effect immediately.

Note that you can set different cookie durations for each program if you have multiple programs. Here’s how to switch between programs:

When you have 2 or more programs on your account and set up the cookies, make sure to pay attention to which program is selected at the top.

Tapfiliate will not track conversions once your account’s set cookie period expires. In other words, the cookie lifetime inside the Tapfiliate system is what matters for tracking purposes.

Choosing Affiliate portal Languages

The Affiliate Portal is available in the following languages:

  • English

  • French

  • German
    Spanish

  • Portuguese (Brazilian)

  • Japanese

Please note that the Admin side of the platform is currently available only in English.

To choose the language your affiliates will see, you can set the default language for both the sign-up form and the affiliate dashboard. This also determines the language used in the affiliate portal. You can configure this in: Program → Signup page → Language

As the advertiser, you can update the language for your program at any time in the settings.

While you, as the advertiser, can define the default language for affiliates starting at the sign-up page, affiliates can change their preferred language later in their account under the Profile settings tab.

FAQs

❓If I track conversions in several currencies, what will be the currency the affiliates will be paid in?

Tapfiliate can track conversions in multiple currencies; however, the platform does not perform any currency exchange. This means that the currency used in the original transaction is the same currency used to calculate the commission. As a result, affiliate balances may be stored in different currencies.

If needed, you can handle any currency exchange externally when processing payouts.
